My name is Anne, and I’m a Registered Massage Therapist, Manual Lymphatic Drainage therapist and educator with close to twenty years of experience in manual therapy.

My little practice in Wortley Village has continued to grow and evolve over the years, much as I have as a therapist. These days, much of my work centres around the lymphatic system, post-surgical recovery, lipedema and gentle, restorative care.

I love this work.

I love helping people understand what is happening in their bodies, finding ways to make recovery a little easier, and watching things begin to change ~ sometimes in ways that are visible, and sometimes simply in the way someone moves, feels or becomes more comfortable in their own body.

Whether you are coming through my door as a patient or joining me around the treatment tables as a student, my hope is that you feel comfortable, welcome and cared for while you are here.

Lymphatic Care, Recovery & Lipedema

Manual Lymphatic Drainage has become the heart of my clinical practice.

I work with people for many different reasons, but a large part of my practice now involves supporting post-surgical recovery. This includes cosmetic, reconstructive and elective procedures such as abdominal and breast surgeries, liposuction, facial procedures and joint replacements.
Every recovery looks a little different.

Depending on where you are in yours, treatment may include Manual Lymphatic Drainage to support swelling and fluid movement, along with gentle fascial work, scar management, breath and movement as healing progresses. Treatment is always adapted to your individual needs, stage of recovery and medical or surgical guidance when required.

I also have the privilege of working with a growing number of people living with lipedema. For some, MLD is part of ongoing conservative care. For others, I may be supporting them as they prepare for or recover from lipedema surgery.

You don't need to know exactly what treatment you need before you arrive. That is something we can talk about together.

Your Care Doesn't Happen in a Bubble

One of the things I have learned over almost twenty years is that none of us has to be everything to everyone.
I am very comfortable working as one part of your larger circle of care.

That may mean working alongside your surgeon, physician, physiotherapist, osteopath, pelvic health practitioner, compression specialist or another healthcare provider. It may also mean recognizing when someone else has the skills you need and helping point you in that direction.
I want you to understand what we are doing and why we are doing it. Questions are always welcome, and I will often send you home with one or two simple things you can do between appointments rather than an overwhelming list of "homework."

The goal is to help you feel more confident in understanding and caring for your own body ~ not dependent on me to do it for you.

And then there is teaching...

Over the past few years, another part of my practice has quietly grown into something I love just as much.

Through the EluVett Method, I welcome Registered Massage Therapists and other eligible manual therapy professionals into this same space to learn about the lymphatic system, explore new ways of working and become more confident bringing lymphatic-informed care into their own practices.

EluVett grew directly from my years in the treatment room.

It grew from the questions I kept asking, the patients who made me think differently, the things that didn't always fit neatly into a textbook, and my belief that learning a technique is only truly useful when we also understand why we might choose it.

Courses here are intentionally small. We learn, practise, ask questions, change our minds occasionally, laugh quite a bit, and usually leave with even more things to be curious about.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.

You may also meet Maisii, Clinic Greeter & Zen Keeper 

Of course, there is one other member of the practice who deserves an introduction.

Maisii is my little Schnoodle and our resident clinic dog.

Maisii has settled beautifully into the rhythm of clinic life and has become quite comfortable having patients share her space.

When you arrive, Maisii will be safely tucked into her kennel while you come in and get settled. Once we are ready to begin, she joins me in the treatment room, where she is quite happy to settle in and keep us company while I work.

After your treatment, if you are comfortable with dogs, Maisii is usually very pleased to have the opportunity to come over and say hello before you leave.

She is small, hypoallergenic and non-shedding. If you are uncomfortable around dogs or have sensitivities, please let me know before your visit and I will do my best to make your time here comfortable.

For everyone else, you may find that having a quiet little four-legged companion in the treatment room is simply part of your visit here!

I am so excited to share my massage practice with the community from my beautiful heritage home in Wortley Village.    

I offer online booking for your convenience, can direct bill for most insurance plans or offer contactless payment if that is more convenient for you. All of my services fall under the scope of practice of a Registered Massage Therapist, and are billed in this way for tax and insurance receipt purposes. My online system allows you to book an appointment, fill out any forms online (securely encrypted), sends SMS or email reminders of your appointments, and even gives you the option to put yourself on a waiting list if you like!

​SOPHII: Therapy Dog + Service Dog 

It is with great sadness that I share the news of my sweet and ridiculous little girl, who went home this January. She was the best door greeter and zen keeper a clinic could ever ask for. I know she touched many hearts and brought many smiles to our patients over the past 14 years.

I am so grateful for our time together and all that she gave me and all those around her. Her little light will be immensely missed.
