Women's Health & Wellness:  lymphatic drainage, abdominal massage and visceral manipulation

These tailored massage treatments are designed to support women's health and wellness, and include treatments for conditions such as Endometriosis, PMS, Dysmenorrhea, PCOS, and PCS. This holistic approach combines Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), Abdominal Massage, and Visceral Manipulation to help alleviate symptoms, reduce inflammation, and improve overall well-being.

These gentle, therapeutic techniques promote better circulation, reduce pain and bloating, support hormonal balance, and enhance the body’s natural healing processes.

Abdominal massage helps to improve blood flow, reduce pelvic congestion, and ease discomfort from menstrual cramps, bloating, and digestive issues—common symptoms many women experience.

Lymphatic drainage supports the body’s detoxification processes, reducing fluid retention and inflammation, which can alleviate swelling and discomfort often experienced by menstruating women.

Visceral release works directly with the internal organs, gently releasing tension and adhesions, improving organ mobility, and restoring balance to the pelvic region, which can be particularly beneficial for women experiencing chronic pain or irregular menstrual cycles.

When combined, these therapies offer a comprehensive, synergistic approach to healing by improving circulation, promoting detoxification, and enhancing organ function. This effective combination helps to reduce pain, regulate hormonal imbalances, and encourage overall relaxation, providing deep therapeutic benefits for women seeking relief from reproductive health issues.

Dysmenorrhea and PMS

Dysmenorrhea refers to painful menstruation, often characterised by intense cramping, lower abdominal discomfort, and sometimes lower back pain, typically occurring just before or during a woman’s menstrual cycle. This condition is caused by excessive uterine contractions triggered by hormonal fluctuations, particularly an imbalance in prostaglandins, the chemicals that help the uterus contract.

Unlike PMS (premenstrual syndrome), which primarily involves emotional and physical symptoms such as mood swings, bloating, and fatigue, dysmenorrhea specifically affects the pelvic area with intense pain during menstruation.  READ MORE HERE

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a chronic condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing inflammation, pain, and sometimes fertility issues. Common symptoms of endometriosis include severe pelvic pain, painful periods, pain during intercourse, and bowel or urinary problems.

Unlike PMS (premenstrual syndrome), which typically involves mood swings, bloating, and fatigue, endometriosis is characterised by more intense, long-lasting pain that can be debilitating, often occurring throughout the menstrual cycle rather than just during menstruation. READ MORE HERE

PCOS: polycystic ovary syndrome

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal disorder that affects women of reproductive age. It is characterised by irregular menstrual cycles, excess androgen (male hormones), and the presence of cysts on the ovaries. These hormonal imbalances can lead to symptoms such as acne, weight gain, thinning hair, and difficulty with fertility.

PCOS can also increase the risk of developing conditions like insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. Abdominal, visceral, and lymphatic techniques, can support women with PCOS by promoting hormonal balance, improving circulation, reducing stress, and alleviating symptoms like bloating, pelvic discomfort, and menstrual irregularities. PCS: pelvic congestion syndrome

Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS) is a condition where varicose veins form in the pelvic region, leading to chronic pelvic pain, heaviness, and discomfort. This occurs when blood flow is obstructed in the veins of the pelvis, causing blood to pool and the veins to enlarge. Common symptoms include aching pain that worsens after standing for long periods, during menstruation, or after intercourse.

PCS is often linked to hormonal imbalances, multiple pregnancies, or genetic factors. Therapeutic massage can be effective in managing PCS by improving circulation, reducing pelvic congestion, and alleviating pain, providing relief and promoting better overall pelvic health. READ MORE HERE
