What is Thai Herbal Massage?

Thai Hot Herbal Compress Massage combines passive stretching, acupressure, and relaxing massage with the moist heat from steamed herbal bundles.

These bundles, known as Thai Stems, release essential oils from a blend of herbs to target tension in the muscles and skeletal system. The herbs used in this treatment include zingiber, turmeric, kaffir lime, lemongrass, patchouli, sweet flag, mountain ebony leaves, and camphor.

History

Thai Herbal Hot Compress Massage (also known as Luk Pra Kob) has its roots in ancient Thai healing traditions, blending herbal medicine with the techniques of traditional Thai massage.

Originally practiced by herbalists and Thai healers, the therapy uses steamed herbal bundles to release essential oils that provide soothing heat and therapeutic benefits. The practice combines passive stretching, acupressure, and targeted pressure on energy lines in the body, promoting relaxation, pain relief, and overall well-being.

Over centuries, this massage has evolved and is now widely recognized for its ability to enhance circulation, release muscle tension, and detoxify the body while supporting emotional balance and vitality.
